Biography
Emil Ciocoiu was born in Sasa (Romania) on September 13th, 1948. He studied at the Bucharest Academy of Arts from 1968 to 1974. In 1976, he becomes a member of the Roman Artists Union.
In 1980, he leaves the Romania to live in Aachen, Germany. In 1983, he becomes a member of the German Artists Union.
Numerous single and group exhibitions made him famous at home and abroad.
His works were shown in Milan, Paris, Hamburg, Cannes, Stuttgart, Avignon, Vienna, Brussels, Monte Carlo, amongst others, as well as at art fairs in New York, Quebec, Rome, Barcelona, Bologna, Geneva...
Ciocoiu's paintings are also arranged in the Ludwig Museum of International Art in Beijing, in the National Museum of Romanian Art - Bucharest, in the Ludwig Foundation for Art and International Understanding Aachen, in the National Museum of modern Art in Pescara, in the art collection of the Royal Dynasty of Jordan, in the art collection of the Royal Dynasty of the Netherlands...
Unfortunately, Emil Ciocoiu has left us on 01/08/2020, for a great journey among the stars he painted all his life.
